President asks police to protect business people’s interests

MOSCOW, Feb 26 (PRIME) – The Russian law enforcement agencies should not see law violators in each businessman, but should protect them, President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at a meeting with the Interior Ministry.

“Economic security does not mean seeing a potential criminal in each entrepreneur but protecting local business, our law abiding people who create new jobs and work themselves,” Putin said.

He added that the number of businesspersons’ claims about illegal pressure of the law enforcement authorities is still significant.
